2006 Top Ten Laptops
There is so much
going on with technology that I thought I would make my 2006 Top Ten Laptops. But it's not simply the ten most powerful laptops ever created.
It's the ten laptops that do a great job at what they are designed to do.
Sure there are some laptops out there that probably cost $15,000 or more but who cares. These laptops have made people like you and me become more productive in our lives.
So here is the list in no particular order...
Dell XPS M2010 - This laptop has paved the way for what is to come in 2007 and beyond. It has so much technology that we haven't seen out of any other laptop.
Thinkpad x60s - Certainly one of the premier laptops made so far. As with most Thinkpads, if you invest in this laptop you can expect to be carrying it around a long time.
It's incredibly durable on the outside. And it has power and performance on the inside.
It will be very exciting to see how Thinkpads will be in the future!
Dell XPS m1210 - The best of it's breed. While I usually thing laptops smaller then 14-inches aren't worth having. This 12-inch laptop is more then I can handle!
This laptop is small in size but big in power. And it has a keyboard that you can actually type on.
There is certainly a future in small 12-inch laptops and it's all because of the XPS m1210.
HP dv9000t - This laptop is one of the first to feature high definition technology in a laptop. We will someday look back and be amazed that we lived without high definition.
Within a few years, high definition will be the standard in everything we watch. And not just in televisions but in laptops as well.
Dell Inspiron e1505 - Probably the overall best consumer laptop made so far. It's incredibly affordable but don't let the price fool you...
This laptop can get some serious work done. Looks amazing with Windows Vista. You can't ask much more out of this laptop.
I sincerely hope that Dell makes a lot more laptops like the Dell Inspiron e1505.
Sony Vaio VGN-FE790 - You can't have the 2006 top ten laptops without throwing in a Sony laptop. Sure I could have thrown in one of there $2000+ models but this laptop is different.
It has all of the technologies that make Sony so great. Things like their XBRITE laptop screens and all of their multimedia add-ons. But this laptop still comes in an affordable package.
Hopefully someday all laptop screens will look as good as the VGN-FE790. Or perhaps better (if that's even possible).
Dell XPS m1710 - Nothing explains this laptop better then "raw gaming power". Combine that with really fancy lighting all around it and it is a sure winner in my book.
This laptop has received so many "laptop of the year" awards that I would be crazy not to have it on my 2006 Top Ten Laptops list.
If you ever get the chance to own one of these do it in a heartbeat. You will certainly be a satisfied customer for a very long time.
HP Pavilion dv2000t - I will title this as "the most affordable 14-inch laptop that is worth buying." This laptop gets the slight edge over the Dell Inspiron e1405. Mainly because it's slightly better in price.
It's also nice that you can visit a retailer and check out this laptop before purchasing it directly from them.
A very quality laptop and I hope HP continues to have the competitive pricing beyond what they have had in 2006.
Dell Latitude d620 - This is probably the most arguable laptop on this list. But there is something about this laptop that I just love.
It doesn't have any weaknesses and it really excels in security.
With the future needing more and more emphasis on secure laptops. I hope this laptop sets the stage for more secure features.
Thinkpad t60 - You simply can't have just one Thinkpad on the 2006 Top Ten Laptops list. It just wouldn't be right!
This laptop sets the standard on what thin and light should feel like. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for providing laptops that are as lightweight as possible.
