HP Pavilion Desktop Experience

I have had my HP Pavilion desktop for about 6 months and recently within the past 30 days it has giving me some problems in technical hardware area as well as the software.

Last week my HP just shut off and every time It turned it on the Windows blue screen would show up. After taking it to Bestbuy geek squad they took a look at it and said the hard drive is fried and also the video and audio need to be replaced for the cost of $600. However, I bought this HP desktop new at $899 so it clearly not worth fixing it for this high price.

I had Sony laptop before and never had any problems but as a first time HP user and last time because their customer service is also in India and they never fix your problems after waiting about 2 hours on the phone.

My HP desktop was under 1 year limited warranty by HP so after talking to a manager from HP they agreed to pay $300 toward the fix of my computer. So I had to send it to them and their cost to fix it was around $500 of which i paid $200 and they paid remaining $300.

I wish I never bought an HP and would not recommend to others.

Alien-ware has the best customer representative and next is Sony buy HP is awful and I had call many times before I could talk to someone who understands English and this experience really pissed me off.

I hope this helps others in making a smarter decision about buying a computer and always buy an additional warranty because you never know when you will need it.
