Can Your Really Have Your Laptop Hibernate?

Laptop Hibernate

Unlike a bear that hibernates all of winter, your can have your laptop hibernate. Why would you want to do such a crazy thing?

The hibernate mode can be found on your laptop in the same place that you normally shut down your computer. And hibernate mode is similar to regularly shutting down your computer in that, well it shuts down your computer!

The only difference is this, when you choose to hibernate it takes all of the files that you have open and places them on your hard drive. Then when you restart your computer your files are there and you are ready to go.

The best benefit about hibernating and the reason I do it is because it is much faster than shutting down your computer regularly. Try it for yourself! Go to Start -> Turn off your computer -> Hibernate.

Isn't that cool?

99.9% of the time the hibernate mode works perfect. The only time you might run into trouble is if you don't have very much hard drive space left.

Since hibernate mode temporarily throws everything onto your hard drive, if there is nowhere to put it it obviously can't work. So don't do it if you are extremely low on hard drive space. But that would never happen to you would it?
