System Restore Allows You To Travel Back In Time...
One of the greatest software tools ever invented was the System Restore for Windows. This nifty tool allows you to restore your laptop computer to a time when it was running properly.
This will no doubt save you a lot of money someday if your computer crashes. And the best part about it...
It is FREE and already installed on your laptop!
System Restore is the answer that you have been looking for to fix a majority of your computer problems.
What it does is simply go back to a date that you choose and restores everything so your laptop will run exactly like it did on that particular date.
System Restore isn't nearly as well-known as it should be...
If you ever have to call Dell for customer support, most of the time the first thing they will tell you to do is to use System Restore and see if that fixed the problem.
And the great thing is most of the time it works! So do yourself a favor and try System Restore before calling anyone.
It isn't going to harm your computer. It's too smart of a program to do that! Most of the time it will simply be like going back in time when your laptop was running perfectly.
How do you get to System Restore?
Well there are a variety of ways. If you are a somewhat advanced user, go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore
If all of that is confusing to you, click on your start menu and then go to Search. From there simply type in System Restore and the first thing that pops up will mostly likely be the right program.
From there all you have to do is double-click on it and follow a couple brief instructions.
As mentioned before, this should fix a majority of your laptop problems. If it doesn't, there are still several things that you can do. Without having to call Dell and wait for a representative.
If at any time you wish your laptop performed exactly like when you first bought it, you can use the Dell Reinstallation CD or whatever installation CD that came with your laptop.
This will definitely fix any problem that you might have because it wipes out everything on your computer and starts all over again!
If System Restore doesn't work and you don't want to use the Re-Install CD then you might want to try your laptops Customer Service. Just be sure to have your laptop service tag with you when you call. This will save you a lot of time and will move you ahead of other people that are calling.
